Sarah Palin drops 2012 presidency hint with staff visit to Iowa
Sarah Palin has dropped another hint of her intention to run for the White House in 2012, dispatching aides to scope out office space in Iowa, the first stop in the presidential race.

The "will she, won't she?" speculation about Palin in 2012 has become a Washington parlour game – as well as generating free publicity for her new book, which goes on sale this week.

In the course of making arrangements for that tour, two aides organising Palin's visit to Des Moines on 27 November told locals they were looking into office space and other logistical needs for the coming year, the Guardian has learned.

1. I hope they are keeping the web site up of Palin her WH office.
Looks like they need to add to it.

2. Or the repugs are using her as a red herring.

We are wasting so much energy on her we aren't paying attention to anything else.

4. Who cares?
Two years out, Palin’s got 100% name recognition—but 50%-plus unfavorables.

Before
the first primary.
Before the first negative ad.

Where’s the upside potential? Where are the persuadables? The convertables?

She peaks the week she announces. She’s gone the day after Super Tuesday.

7. I wonder if this run will "keep her on her heels"? Yes, she actually said that.

9. This is no time for complacency.
Sarah Palin has "Nero" potential in historical perspective.

10. Nero...

....could rely on a dynastic fast-track into the principate.

Palin still has to win the nomination. Not accept it, win it. In contested primaries, with negative ads, and real opposition.

She's toast. She is if anything a distraction, a Judas goat to the media, so that things that should be covered that actually matter, fall through the cracks.

She's another Bright Shiny Thing. That's all she is.

My expecting the floor to be there for my feet in the morning, when it was there last night isn't complacency. It's physics.

11. You bring up a good point.
Watching her rivals try to bring her down could be entertaining, indeed.

I'm just worried about the potential downside, if all goes wrong... :scared:
