Save the Tiger--please

And please share the links with others. It's important that tigers survive, and in fact, ALL big predators, regardless of what they might be. It's one thing for us, as a species, to survive on earth, but it would be an awfully lonely world without the animals beside us.

8. There used to be a gas company
Who used to have something similar, though I can't remember it completely. Was it something like "Keep the tiger in the tank"?

Tigers mean a lot to the world. If they disappear from this world, there will be a very great void. I know some people will argue that we will still have them in zoos, but that's kind of missing the whole point.

2. My dear hyphenate!
I so agree!

If the world is unfit for them, then it's unfit for us as well...

Proud to send you to the Greatest Page!

4. I've thought about it
as well--a lot. I think though, that they should suffer the same exact form of torture and death that they had planned for the animal.

10. Tigers are inherently immoral. They can only survive by murdering the innocent. nt

Tigers only kill to survive. Nothing to do with "immorality" or "morality." Can you say the same for humans? (I.e., someone named "Palin?"--who shoots wolves?)

Article snip: (link below)

DHAKA, Bangladesh (AlertNet) - Climate change is driving a growing number of farmers in Bangladesh's southern Sundarbans region out of their fields and into the region's mangrove forests, leading to a rise in tiger attacks and 'tiger widows,' researchers say.

snip:

In a society where widows often have low social status and little chance to remarry, the tiger attacks are creating new suffering in a region already struggling with widespread loss of farmland to sea level rise and salt intrusion that has made it impossible for many farmers to continue growing crops.

snip:

So far this year, 26 people have been killed by tigers in the region, compared to 34 in all of 2009 and 30 in all of 2008, WTB (Wildlife Trust of Bangladesh) figures show. Nine people in the area have been injured in tiger attacks so far this year, compared to eight in all of 2009, the group said.

snip:

Modinul Ahsan, programme coordinator of the WTB, noted that conflict between tigers and people in the Sundarbans is centuries old. Quoting a survey carried out by researcher Adam Barlow in 2009, he said that from the year 1881 to 2006, an estimated 3,615 people had been killed by tigers in the area, or an average of 51 a year.

14. Yeah, that whole climate change thing IS the fault of tigers.
51 a year. We should find a way to make lightning extinct, seeing as how it kills 90 folks in the US each year.

We don't live in Bangladesh.

I'm sure they kill more than 51 people a year in Bangladesh.
