4. No, and they won't.
They repaid the LOAN part of the boondoggle. We will never be made whole on the ownership stake in the company that we had no input on acquiring. Best-case scenario there is that we lose $10Billion. I don't believe in the best case scenario.

9. I really enjoyed your series of posts LAMBASTING the AIG/Wall Street bailouts
You know, the one where you figured out how much taxpayer dosh each of the Wall Street jobs that we "saved" cost us.

Oh, right. You didn't make any posts like that. Wonder why?

10. Your full of it
In the end we'll have made a profit on the bailout of gm.
I'd like to see the "facts" you're working with if you don't mind. Maybe I'm way off :-)

5. Actually, the tally looks like a $10B total "cost" which works
out to $7,142.86 per job. Not too shabby. And that's a one time layout, if the jobs maintain for 10 years, that cost per job per year goes down to $714. If you deduct the taxes paid on the income derived from those jobs, then it's a net positive pretty damned fast.

And $10B is about a week and a half in Iraq, so...the GM money was waaaaayyyyy better spent in my book.

8. long term
return the the economy of retaining that portion of that industry, those jobs and those in the supply chain down the line will,I'd think, more than cover your $57,000+. Crunch those numbers.
