Letter to the editor about caging. Do I explain it properly? |
|
Let me know if my understanding is correct.

Monica Goodling testified to Congress that Rove's assistant Tim Griffin engaged in "caging." Caging is a form of vote fraud. Here's how it worked in the 2004 election. Rove's office contacts the Pentagon and obtains a list of soldiers serving in Iraq and in other overseas locations. They send a certified letter to their stateside address. This letter can only be signed by the addressee. Because they are in Baghdad or Afghanistan they cannot sign the letter and it gets returned to the sender.
Rove and Griffin used this technique to challenge our soldier's right to vote. It is estimated that Rove and Griffin have illegally removed over 1.3 million voters from the rolls. Too many were soldiers in the line of fire.
It is bad enough that they resorted to illegal means to disenfranchise voters, but to target our active duty soldiers is as low as a person can go.
Tim Griffin is now a US Attorney, replacing one that got fired because he put the law above loyalty to Bush. Such actions is at the core of the investigation into the firing of the eight US prosecutors.

2. Did Rove do this, directly, or did he order the GOP to do it? |

You may know more details than I do.
But, also, I think you should explain what happened to individuals' votes, when the letters were either returned or not acted upon. We should all be writing to our local papers about this.
