Vote for ABB (Anyone But Bristol) on DWTS.
They're making it political, so we might as well make it political.

Don't let miss no-talent "teen activist" win because of Tea Party votes. I'll try to post the numbers with which to vote here later this evening.

4. It may seem stupid to you ... but every win for a Palin is a psychological win for THE Palin.
If the Tea Party can influence the vote of a national TV show, just imagine how powerful they'll feel when it comes to putting Sarah in the White House in 2012?

58. Really?
So all this sudden Palin exposure is just pure coincidence? They (whoever "they" are) are trying to package her and her family as likeable, everyday folk. Wonder why that is? Could 2012 be the reason? One commentator said half in jest that DWTS is already a straw poll on her. Not too far off the mark. Her handlers (and whoever else) are testing the political winds with this, I have no doubt.

At the very least, this will show that some of us **are** paying attention, and are wise to the game that's being played.

20. Bristol Stool Scale
Ironically, I got a nutritional video in the mail today (free from Mercy for Animals, with donation!) and just about choked with laughter at the timing.

Something came up about the "Bristol Stool Scale" which I'd never heard of before, but Bristol and poop were already correlated in my mind because of the finals coming up tonight.

Phone lines, text votes (AT&T customers only) and online polls will open at the top of each performance show so that viewers can vote for their favorites. Phone and text lines will stay open for 30 minutes after the end of the show. Online voting will remain open until 11am (Eastern Time) the next day

To vote by text message, text the word "VOTE" to your favorite couple's number below from your AT&T phone.

It may not rise to the level of "important," but those who think this has nothing to do with Sarah Palin's popularity (and her future) are kidding themselves.

54. She has all the dancing talent of a Japanese robot. The sour look,
the nasty attitude, the blatant politicization with her every word, and the constant presence of that vile Mother of hers have absolutely destroyed what was once an enjoyable distraction, for me at least. Not even the Bugman(Tom Delay) or Tucker Carlson, who was booted off because he wouldn't leave his chair because he was too embarrassed to show how much he's enjoyed his partner's lap dance ever uttered a single political word on that show. When you have even less class than those two, you have none at all. I guess that makes me a hater. I can live with that.

Dancing with Bristol and Sarah
By Gil Smart
Lancaster Sunday News

"... These people seem to think that by voting for Bristol, they're proving a point. Because she's "trying so hard," and because Palin supporters identify so fervently with her — they're trying hard, too! — she deserves to win. In so doing, she can stick it to the meritocracy and prove it doesn't take special talent or acumen to make it to the top.

"Isn't this the rationale of those who support Bristol's mother politically?

"Sarah's the everywoman; Andrew Jackson meets reality television. Frustrated by the notion that governance takes some special insight borne of education or experience, Sarah Palin's fans prefer to think that feistiness and tenacity are enough — more than enough.

"This is why Sarah Palin will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2012. Never in my years of observing politics have I seen a constituency that identifies so strongly with a candidate. Her fans are welded to her psychologically; it's identity politics in spades. And the more you point this out, the more slavish their devotion becomes. ...

What a hoot. As IF her winning a dance contest because some inbreds voted for her on their cell phones could get her mother elected to the Presidency. Anyone who thinks this is the case is waaaaay beyond help.

Voter fraud on Dancing With the Stars! We need an investigation! Dancing With the Stars is trying to steal the Presidency in 2012! Tea Partiers are helping them! Ahhhhh!

Go Bristol...

In the meantime, some of our young National Treasure will be outside the wire in Iraq and Afghanistan on Thanksgiving Day, while we're either whining silently about eating with people whose ideology we disagree with, or rooting against the Cowboys and Lions. They'll be foregoing dinner, football, and their own physical safety in a meaningless and illegal war.

But, but, but... the fate of the free world rests on the shoulders of the daughter of a quitter... right?

Go Bristol...

The show will have lost all credibility (if it ever had any). My local ABC morning show treats the show as a news item. Certainly ABC loves the attention this controversy is generating. Nice how ABC deflects the criticism that "there is no evidence of anyone manipulating the process." You betcha.

42. Tonight was the first time I've watched the show in years....
1. Holy hell, Baby can dance the paso doble! I still don't like her nose job (totally not relevant, but I had to say it because I still can't recognize her and she was gorgeous before) but she killed it on the dance floor.

2. The cute kid from my daughter's tv show (no idea what his name is) was great! He's adorable and had amazing energy.

3. And then there was Bristol. Cell Block Tango is my all time favorite song of any musical and with that song comes great performance responsibility. Has she attempted sexy all season? What am I missing because, from where I was sitting, she had no business dancing to that song. Put her in a poofy princess dress, choreograph a stiff waltz, play a Disney song and call it a day. Seriously, who was responsible for that?

They're doing everything in their power to make her lumber around in their sabotaged shoes (the original meaning of sabotage, of course) and pout her sabotaged lips and haul that poor man around like a cavewoman so that if she loses it's all the conspiracy's fault and if she (shudder) wins she has riz above adversity to shine like a beacon for young teen activists everywhere!
