1. I was supporting Obama |
|
I don't think I am anymore.
I mean, if he finally does fight against this that'll be great, but any illusions I had about him not being "just another politician" are mostly gone.
If he actually believed what he's been preaching about the war he should have already been shouting about this. (same goes for Hillary)

20. Would you rather have a President who doesn't care what constituents think? |
|
I thought we were sick of the "I'm the decider" kind of politician.
If Obama and Clinton are waiting for feedback from constituents, that seems like a positive thing to me.

Enough already, pnwmom. Are you suggesting they are really just waiting to see how the day's phone calls go? Do conscience and principles count for nothing?

27. I think many people are contradicting themselves. |
|
On the one hand, they're advocating that we bombard our Congresspeople with emails and phone calls -- which I think is a good idea. On the other hand, they complain if they think that any of our representatives actually listens to the feedback they're getting.

That I and millions of others will NEVER vote for them if they back this disgraceful legislation.
Tie up the Congressional phone lines until this vote comes up and make it absolutely clear that you will never vote for them for any public office no matter what, if they capitulate to this disgraceful deal with the Devil in the White House!

22. I'm betting "working on nice fuzzy words" with LOTS of extra word about heroes |
|
and supporting the troops.
After the calculating strategizing bull session matadors for both camps figure out the most expedient direction of the breeze, of course.

They're both waiting to see how the other one is going to vote. Then there's the time it takes to make the excuses... You can't rush things like that!

In the end I'm hoping they'll both vote no, but that doesn't negate the fact that they couldn't come out with a firm stance on this.
Disclaimer: Note that I said I hope and I'm making no predictions.

I really like Hillary but the weathervane cartoon is very funny and an apt description right now! I'm sure furious last minute polling is being conducted on this one by Clinton and then we will find out.

Which might piss off knee-jerkers, but that's a valid answer to me. Assuming he ends up voting no.
