We welcomed Dubya to Kansas City tonight

Very interesting evening. Sold out event. We got there about an hour before dubya was to appear and were able to stand on the sidewalk only a few feet from the doors so everyone going in could see us and our signs. Very little visible police presence, which was very different from the last time he was here, when he was still president. It was interesting to see such a smaller Secret Service detail.

We got little to no reaction from 95% of the people going into the event. Just a few shaking their heads but most just ignored us.













We went to have coffee at a nearby place and then came back to stand there again when the event ended and the crowd left. Well, seeing dubya must have given the crowd a shot of something because as they left the venue and walked by us, the comments came flying out of their mouths. The one we heard most often was "GET A LIFE!" to which we responded "4400 soldiers would love to have theirs back"

We also heard

"YOU PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTING"

"HE KEPT YOU ALIVE"

"YOU SHOULD BE THANKING HIM INSTEAD"

"YOU'RE PATHETIC"

"THOSE SOLDIERS DIED SO YOU COULD STAND HERE"

"YOU DEGENERATE BASTARDS"

"YOU SHOULD READ HIS BOOK BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE HIM" (Like I would learn something new? LOL)

Interesting that not one wanted to discuss anything with us, they were only interested in insulting us and calling us names.

Then a guy came out and came over to us and said "I can't believe I sat through that whole thing and didn't vomit" He said he got a free ticket and went out of curiosity. He told us the most alarming thing about the whole event, other than the lame questions the interviewer asked, was the way the crowd just sat there mesmerized. He said they were absolutely hypnotized by dubya. This man was clearly stunned that so many people were in love with a war criminal.

Another kind of funny thing was a woman who came out of the venue carrying 5 copies of dubya's book. I was so surprised seeing her struggle to carry all those books, I turned to my friend next to me and said "Jeez, why doesn't she just go have sex with him?" Well me and my big mouth, the lady heard me say that and was visibly quite irritated. Oh noes, I embarrassed a republican!

Part of their mission was to protect him from all that pesky criticism. Now he has a much smaller security detail that's just not adequate for maintaining the bubble.
