"Going forward, we need your voice"
http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/ericasagrans/gGM8KJ

OFA Director Mitch Stewart sent a message asking supporters to take a survey and share their thoughts on OFA's work going forward:

In the six months leading up to Election Day, supporters like you reached out to more than 80 million voters on phone lines and doorsteps across the country -- making the difference in dozens of key races.

And -- one conversation at a time -- the commitments to vote that you secured helped grow this movement. That kind of work transcends the results of a single election. Thank you.

Organizing for America started with you -- your voices, your ideas, and your feet on the ground.

And from the beginning, your vision for the future has propelled our work to move this country forward. From historic health insurance reform to the strongest consumer protections ever put in place, we have begun to make the change we envisioned a reality.

6. Since the president's agenda is clearly the same as George W Bush's
it is natural and proper that progressives would seek to stop him.

2. I completed that
And I brought up that Barack was Republican Lite compared to who we thought we were electing.

I also told them to please get some marketing people in there because someone needs to get the message out about how much better off the little guy is under Obama with middle class tax cuts, bringing the Iraqi forces home, etc.

4. So, OFA is willing to listen now?
Because I've got quite a few things to say, but couldn't find a receptive ear amongst our Democratic leaders. First, quit chasing the chimera of "bipartisanship." You know what the right thing to do is, just do it. Republicans can either join in, or spend their time explaining why to their people why they think unfunded tax cuts for millionaires are more important the social security benefits (to cite just one example).

Second, while a little horse-trading is how things get done in any political maneuver, quit bargaining away everything before you even sit down at the table. Negotiate from a position of strength. Voters handed you big majorities in the House and Senate, and control of the White House for a reason. Hint: The reason wasn't to continue the lousy policies of the predecessor Republican majorities.

Start doing those two things, and I'll work with a good will toward a fairer, more progressive America with a government responsive to more than just the endless demands of the winners, who seem to have things pretty well secured for themselves already, and who don't need any more help. Oh, I guess you can put that down as number three.
