Hardball to set Matthews straight about his dickhead statement yesterday to Ginger McCall that her charge of Chertoff's involvement with the naked scanners was and is true?

2. Are you fucking kidding me? So now a government official can
profit off government contracts while still in office?

What did Tweety say after he finally found out that Skeletor was a rep for the scanner mfgrs?

4. He went along with Chertoff's claim that his firm never lobbied
but only "represented" them legally (of course)

Tweety bought it hook, line, and sinker.

3. At least he admitted involvement in 2009
I want to know if it was only in '09 or up until '09.

Eye rolls for sure!

6. Technically that is correct
The conflict of interest is not his - his interest is unitary (make money). The conflict of interest is on the part of whoever he lobbys to, in other words, our Congressmen, Senators, and executives @ DHS. Those people are conflicted between their duty and obligation to serve the interests of the people, and the lure of being able to peddle influence themselves to similar profits.

I would like to know who in the government made the decision to buy these scanners and I would like to read the documentation that supports that decision. I would also like to know to what degree legislative action has been influenced in order to create a need for the product.

9. Maybe... But I suspect his "lobbying" came while in office himself
I suspect he got the wheels rolling for the purchase back then...

5. Did he deny that while he was using the Underwear Bomber
as a huge big ad promoting the product of his client, the aptly named 'Rapiscan' company, he forgot to tell the audience that he stood to profit immensely from the sale of those machines?

Did anyone point out the irony of a man who completely failed to protect the American people during Hurricane Katrina, should be giving any advice on security in this country and the only reason he might have tried to do had to be profit, because who in their right minds would take security advice from such a failure?

7. +1,000
If Satan and Vladimar Lenin had a butt ugly lovechild it would look just like michael Chertoff.

IF I were in the Obama admin I'd ensure that jerk would never profit from gov contracts.

I first saw him when he was among the Whitewater/Clinton prosecution legal team. Ken Starr and Chertoff were hand in glove.

8. It's always the same goddamned circle of elitists that fuck us over.
And yet NOTHING ever gets done about it.

NOTHING!
