17. DeGuerin Blew It Big Time...

TPM was giving a very excellent run down during the final days of the trial. At the last moment a key piece of evidence was submitted by the prosecution that had DeLay meeting the bag man the same day as the check in question was written. DeGuerin appeared to be blindsided by this and had no defense. DeLay was toast.

To the wingnuts, he was "railroaded" and could have eaten a baby on live TV and they'd stand by him, but in the real world, he was found guilty by 12 "regular" people. If he's able to weasel his way out, so be it, but he was found guilty. Sadly we can't take back that disastrous redistricting his crimes made possible.
