This fight moves north now -
It has been for a couple months - look at the map - there is no other way now.

Look - those oil fields just south of Kirkuk - that is half the out put of the country. You know??

Fighting will follow the money - no surprise.

That poor bastard commanding - he is pleading for reinforcements - of course he is right.

I seperate myself from the moral here - I guess I can do that - to the technical - I am only looking at the technical, man.

And technically - we committed all our force to the capital -they just had to side step and move north.

They did that.

For christ sake - what the fuck are you doing??????

Joe

5. No idea. Does it matter?
I mean, in some wars, people like to know who they're fighting, but we don't seem to care all that much in this one.

6. Curiosity mostly
Although if Kurds were bombing their own pipelines it would be quite a statement.

2. Those oil feilds
are in Kurdistan and the Kurds are not going to give them up easily, they have only wanted one thing even before the invasion and that is an independent Kurdistan, that is why Saddam was after them. Kurdistan not only has oil it also relatively plentiful water and arable land. My fear is that now there is no Saddam they will become next group our dear government calls terrorist or insurgent.

4. Kurdistan -
Kirkuk - the oil field starts about 8 clicks south of there.

They are in the wierd no mans land -not arab and not kurd - and claimed by both.

Man this war in the end does not hinge on religion - it never did - it will hinge on arab vrs non-arab tribal concerns - it really does. It is about money.

The american army better be reinforcing the north -and I mean right now!!

That poor commander - he is dead right if we have any chance to contain this.

And that is the best we can hope for - containment.

Joe
