Oh great, another comeback,
More right-wingers trying to divide us from talking reasonably with each other while our tax money and shared wealth silently and swiftly changes hands. And it ain’t coming to you or me.
Self-named Conservatives point to Conservative-described Liberals as the problem. Liberals point to Conservatives as the problem and nobody, anywhere, it seems, hashes out the details to resolve what’s not right about our Constitution’s “union”. Instead of a more perfect union, we have more perfected dividing, and this ditty is an example. With three-hundred million people giving an average of $8000 per person and a lot more to be borrowed. There’s a lot of money in play that can be flitted away. Ten percent would be over 200 Billionaires each year to divide between the top politicians and their buddies if they want to and can get away with it. Can you say finders fee?
I’m just a working guy who doesn’t have time to write this and who tries to listen to news and read news an extra hour or two each day to keep myself better informed. So, for this I get called a Liberal with some negative connotation? Liberal that comes from the same root as LIBERTY, once meant spending too much, but wait, wasn’t it a liberal president Clinton that balanced the budget? Wasn’t it a Conservative president Reagan/Bush who borrowed to spend more and more? Isn’t it a Conservative Bush that borrows to keep spending more and more right now? If you look at those lowered taxes next to the additional borrowing, that tax break IS NOT going to you and me.
So why would someone feel comfortable calling people who spend less, liberals as in free spenders, while calling free spenders -- Conservatives? Hey, it beats me.
Just maybe it’s that our corporations own our newspapers and they make more money off this war, such as GE owning MSNBC as ONE example, than they make offering us news. The only real legal rule corporations MUST follow is to make more money for shareholders, lest they be sued. So, would you as CEO of GE want to give people the news they shouldn’t go to war and then get sued for not pushing a war and making more money from supplying the war from the other half of the company?
Left-wing media my eye! There are only now, what, six news companies and they can each sit on each others boards, if not just know where their bread is buttered.
President and General (as in military General) Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us of the military industrial complex joining to take our money. Dismiss it as conspiracy theory if you must. For some of you there will never be any conspiracies, ever, despite us having laws against it on our books. But, to me, it’s here, it’s now, and it’s killing our troops, stealing our money, ruining America and killing democracy maybe forever.
And if you love yourself, your God, your family, your country enough, maybe this is the comeback you should send. Not written by some think-tank brain, paid enough to promote a stereotype too many will find too easy not to buy.
So, send this.
But, if you need a good gotcha comeback, here’s a true story. A friend was in church when a lady exclaimed: “Oh, isn’t that the dress you bought at my garage sale!” To which my friend slouched unable to say a thing, only to smile and walk away.
So, for the next time, we’ll tell her to come back with: “The next time you need some money, let me know!”
Here’s the original email: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Great Comeback
One of my sons serves in the military. He is still stateside, here in California. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops, everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also. But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha. He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U.S. Flag Lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly," Yes, I always wear it and probably always will."
The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi. A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi Woman: "Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid."
Everyone within hearing distance cheered!
IF YOU AGREE____ Pass this on to all your proud American friends.
I just did. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So did I, but with the hope of reasonable comments to follow not from a less united states but from a more UNITED STATES. God bless us, EVERY one.
