It's time to purge the DLC from our party
If Democrats want to stand for progressive principals then we are going to have to rid the party of the pro-war corporatist politician that are fucking up our party.

This caving by the dems has everything to do with the DLC. They are a cancer in our party. For the life of me I can't understand why so many here support DLC candidates like Hillary.

Here's a link posted earlier by Madfloridian.

The article is written by my favorite DLC douche bag, Harold Ford.
We've already endorsed the idea that Congress should follow-up the veto by putting the administration on a "short leash" -- providing a temporary extension of funding without withdrawal deadlines, but requiring the president to come back for additional funds with some sort of honest assessment of conditions in the country and a clear exit strategy for the United States.

Don't support DLC candidates like Hillary in the primaries.
Research the candidates and see where they stand on the issues but also look at the corporate donation going to their campaigns. Check and see how well affiliated they are with the DLC before you go to the polls.

4. It's THEIR party too.
I don't want to sit next to them at Thanksgiving either but as long as they are elected into the family whatcha gonna do other than get a divorce and go live in someone else's family.

6. Only if we elect them
Don't support their candidates in the primaries. They can't affect policy if they are not holding office.

5. Strengthen your state party Progressive Caucus, get elected
as a delegate and have a voice on platforms and party leaders within the State Dem organizations. In California at the convention last month, the Progressive Caucus grew from 350 members to 1000 by the end of the convention and had an effect on the state platform. Getting involved in the Dem Party apparatus is what will move the ship!

7. I just love ideological purges!
Let's get rid of several million voters! That'll really help.

10. Wrong analogy
Edited on Thu May-24-07 07:16 PM by Moochy
ya see there is a fine party where they can go to... it's called the republican party.

In your silly analogy DLC'ers would be rounded up and executed, comrade. Overstate much? :+

11. except
that even DLC dems don't agree with Reublicans on most issues.

12. We agree
I was just tyring to keep the analogies above the belt, comrade :+

DLCs and republicons only agree on the important issues, like handing out blank checks!

13. Maybe purge is a poor choice of words
Just don't elect them to office. I really hate the fact that people like Harold Ford are affecting legislation. Don't you?
He's not an elected official.
