Could anyone listen to Bernie Sanders and not hear the sense in what he says? |
|
How is it he can lay out the problem with the Republican platform in a way it should be obvious to anyone what a failure it is and no one else seems to be able to?
Long may he live.

3. The public supports ending tax cuts for the top 2 percent but Obama isn't fighting for it |
|
The Republicans fight for what they believe in, we don't.
He's right.

5. Yes, he is right. And repubs have an "all or nothing" metality while Dems seem eager to compromise. |

7. Yes, he is, and this claim that he isn't is just getting ridiculous |
|
I mean, honestly, I'm starting to wonder what it would take to get some of the people here to realize he is actually fighting for us. (Though maybe the next two years will make it harder to continue the lie that he isn't.)

9. Perhaps he could try saying what Bernie did: "The top 1% have more money than the bottom 50%..." |
|
Then he could say something like, "With all due respect to my Republican friends, an extension of the tax cuts that put us on the path to this deficit at a time when poverty is rising and the middle class is collapsing would be irresponsible and inhumane."
That's fighting. Here's not fighting:
"I'm willing to compromise with the Republicans on the tax cuts for the wealthy."
See the difference?

He said his friends on the Republican side of the aisle piss and moan (paraphrasing) about the deficit and how seriously they view this problem and, yet, their line in the sand is tax relief for billionaires. I believe he also remarked on the cruelty of fighting for tax relief for the wealthy while failing to provide any relief for the unemployed.
Rachel asked him if he had any allies in fighting this and he said, "not many."

4. I Know He's Not A Democrat... And I Don't Know What A Conservative Bernie Sanders Would Look Like... |
|
but man... a bi-cameral house of legislation like THAT???
THAT would be the Congress of my dreams.
Serious people, of both stripes, debating the great issues of the day.
Silly... I know...
