Don't we have 41 Senators to kill the Bush tax cuts ? |
|
That Repuke Kyle can gum up the whole works by himself, yet the Dems cannot manage to do nothing even when that is all that is required.

2. I know and all you hear about with the unemployment benefits is that any extension must be paid for |
|
and yet you hear nothing from either side about paying for tax cuts for the rich which will add millions or billions to the deficit.
Why won't the dems fight, argue, whatever. Tired of them going on MSNBC or any other network and complain about the republicans then go back and do nothing to stop them on anything.
When republicans are in the minority they seem to be able to block everything.
When dems are in the minority they say we need a majority to do anything.
When dems are in the majority, they say it is the republicans blocking the legislation.
They do nothing but complain.

3. which is worse - to be seen as the party that rejected an "extension" of tax cuts for the |
|
middle earners - or to allow the wealthy to cushion their pockets.
Not sure there is much of a choice there.

4. That's easy--Do nothing. What's really hard is explaining.... |
|
billions for the filthy rich and crying about the deficit.

5. that is the conundrum - whether to do the right thing - or that which does not impact re-election |
|
My very first day of college I learned a lesson that remains with me to this day - "it is not enough to be fair, one must appear to be fair".

8. Fairness is for wimps. |
|
I've never cared about fair, I care about what is just. It is unjust that the rich take and give nothing back. It is unjust that they horde the wealth. It is unjust that they're killing his country. It is unjust that they're killing the largest middle-class in history.
Screw fair, fairness is for small children and wankers.

9. I like that and the sooner the dems understand that if you are to win, you had |
|
at least better start playing the game in a manner to win, not compromise when you are the only one compromising, not playing fair, when your playing fair has caused you to lose at the game over the years.
As was said; "you play the game to win". That means taking your opponent down in whatever fashion dictates at the time and in this case benefits the American people.
Don't understand dems any more, they seem to be scared to do anything that they think will not look good. Republicans don't care.

6. You're right, there isn't. |
|
We should start "eating the rich" and tell em that if they want to fight us, we'll balance the budget on their backs. 70% marginal rates could be fun.
What would they crow about when we said we had a balanced budget, no Soc. Sec. cuts and a plan that axed the national debt in 15 years? It's time they learned to not fuck with the Donkey.

7. seems like a plan to me - the GOP wants a plan to pay for the cuts - |
|
we will do so by raising taxes on those above $250K.
Get that budget balanced.
Of course, cutting defense budget might also help.

10. Well you are damm right & we all know you can cut their taxes and cut their taxes |
|
& you have never seen a huge increase in jobs. Just like on Dylan Ratigan yesterday, a guy from a rich style mag talking about how the super rich are spending more than ever this year. Says it trickles down, then when asked what they are spending it on, you tell me how this trickles down to us:
1) The big one is taking the family including mom & dad to exotic places for Xmas.
2) The other things, $100 - $200 thousand dollar cars.
3) Yachts.
Anyway, how much of that do you suppose comes down to the common worker? These people getting their taxes cut, the unemployed being denied an extension of their benefits and probably most are unemployed because of these super rich in their Wall Street schemes.
How much longer will they allow them to steal from the American worker?
Actually our dem leadership is pissing me off even more than the republicans if they don't take a stand.
