Illinois State Senate just passed the civil union bill.
The Illinois House passed it yesterday. The Governor is publicly in favor. It looks like a major Midwestern state just passed civil unions without a court order.

3. I'm so proud of my Representatives today
this proves that republicans who are not the majority don't have to have all the fucking power.

I'm sure my reps voted against it, ugh - well hopefully not my State House rep, who is a Dem.
