Freezing my Fed and Mil Ret Pay.......Now This? Really?
Debt Panel Eyes TRICARE Fee Increases
Week of November 29, 2010

Once again the subject of increasing TRICARE costs has hit the news -- the latest proposal being offered by the bipartisan Debt Reduction Task Force. One of the stated goals of the bipartisan task force is to reduce the cost of military health care by imposing greater cost-sharing on TRICARE beneficiaries. Some retirees could see their TRICARE premiums increase by as much as $2,000 a year.

Jesus, I did 23 years of military service for this? :wtf:

Hellooooo Foreclosure!
At least I'll sleep well on a park bench somewhere knowing that the uber-rich will likely keep their tax cuts :sarcasm:

2. Why do you hate Paris Hilton, you selfish bastard?
Don't you know how difficult life can be for her and the other Fabulous People, worrying about having to pay another three cents on the dollar of their "earnings" over a quarter million a year? Instead of voicing your concern for that horrible prospect, you're all, "Wah, my health care, my retirement pay, my house, my life." Suck it up! Do you want the Kardashians to go Galt on us? Have you no humanity after all?

4. Exactly. It's the idiot sons and daughters of the rich who will benefit.
It's the sure way to turn our country into manure. They produce nothing. Those that do produce will no longer have an incentive to do it.

3. Not to be rude but these increases are everywhere and well...
at least you can still get insurance if you can afford it. So many people have closed their eyes to the fact that many people can not beg steal or buy health insurance. They have come for yours now and it stinks. I honor you service. Our government lies and that is the reality. We have all been bitten.

6. Because this group has suffered then that group should suffer too?

8. Hello!!! Everyone will suffer!!!!.
Make no mistakes. Eventually even those who think they are 'the haves' will lose their insurance and then one day they too will lose their homes after a loved one gets sick. This is the reality of what is happening not what I think is fair or just. It is not really interesting but sickening. From someone who is still paying into the system and can have health insurance as long as one of us does not get sick.

10. I agree with you.
When people didn't speak up for those who needed a public option they put their own government health care plans in jeopardy. They thought they were protecting themselves but it did not go that way. The politicians saw that millions of Americans would take the gifting of their health insurance plans into the hands of the corps with only a peep and a tear. The politicians are certain that they can pull the rug out from Medicare and the federal employees with little or no problems. They don't care about anything involving the American people, be it a service member or just a small business person trying to make a life.

7. I did 22yrs in the Navy,
and when I joined in '69, I was GUARANTEED free health care for life as one of my benefits. When the retirees sued the Govt over TRICARE, they were told that even though free health care was guaranteed, the Govt didn't have to honor it's contract with the military. Needless to say, I have NEVER believed the GOVT since then.

Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful to have health care, but if I'd reneged on my contract with the Navy the way the Govt did with us, I'd have been courts martialed and given a dishonorable discharge.
