Corruption beyond belief- the USA
Are you as heart sick of what I see and hear in and about this country every day? It is like living in a cesspool. This nation might be taken down by greed, selfishness and lack of common decency for one to another.
A famous man once said "by their fruits you will know them". The fruit coming of the tree of USA is rotted (politics/money)before it even gets to the ground (the common man).

1. Hate radio and the megachurches have done this to us.
We should be at war with them.

4. Your quote is incorrect. It's The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil.
Money is totally neutral. It buys food to feed the hungry, heart surgery for those who need it, educations for people, your house, medicine, all the things that are good. It can also be used to gain power in a nefarious manner or to feed greed and corrupt people.

It's the people who are corrupt, not the money.

society at large.

The message being sent to the American People is that money is God.

It's a circle, we corrupted the money and now the money corrupts us.

I don't believe it to be a coincidence that at about the same time as we tied religion to money; something even Jesus didn't care for, happened to coincide with the birth of the Gilded Age, Monopolies, Trusts, Robber Barons and an illegitimate Supreme Court precedent "Santa Clara vs Union Pacific" allowing corporate supremacy over the people to take hold.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_God_We_Trust

The motto IN GOD WE TRUST first appeared on the 1864 two-cent coin, followed in 1866 by the 5 cent nickel (1866–1883), quarter dollar, half dollar, silver dollar and gold dollars.<1><3> It is codified as federal law in the United States Code at 36 U.S.C. § 302, which provides: "'In God we trust' is the national motto."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilded_Age

In American history, the Gilded Age refers to the era of rapid economic and population growth in the United States during the post-Civil War and post-Reconstruction eras of the late 19th century (1869-1896). The term "Gilded Age" was coined by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner in their 1873 book, The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today. The name refers to the process of gilding and is meant to make fun of ostentatious display.

(snip)

The end of the Gilded Age coincided with the Panic of 1893, a deep depression. The depression lasted until 1897 and marked a major political realignment in the election of 1896. This productive but divisive era was followed by the Progressive Era.

12. The Love of money is what makes people worship The Almighty Dollar.
It is too bad that the common society here is based on worshiping the Almighty Dollar.

11. It's "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil". This phrase is one of most miss-quoted ones.

2. yes I am heartsick
no matter the subject or challenge - it is usually human failings that create failure, although now it seems intentinonal.
People are now celebrating their selfishness and disregard for others. Rationalization is being served up on all the media.
America is soul sick.

6. I know several right wing 'christians' who despise their fellow man.
They are all religious extremists who thump their bibles and spew biblical quotes all over Facebook, but they absolutely hate human beings who are not conservatives. They all listen to right wing hate radio and watch faux. They believe the lies they are told. These supposed 'christians' idolize frauds like Glenn Beck even though he makes his living bearing false witness against his neighbors.

I am repulsed by those on the right who are so ignorant they don't even realize they are being manipulated by the evil rich who seek to destroy them. I'm reminded of the Jews who were forced to dig the graves where they would be shot. Conservatives are so ignorant they have no clue that the holes they are digging will eventually be their graves. And the holes they are digging will be big enough for us too.

Ignorance is leading this country to its almost certain demise. And conservatives proudly cling to their ignorance while waving their flags and thumping their bibles, totally clueless to the contents.

I'd rather be an athiest with a heart and a mind, than a Christian with no soul.

Btw, I'm not an athiest. I believe in a higher power, just not the same one conservatives do.

14. Churches are drumming up hate too
My neighbor who is from China, encouraged her 12 year old son to attend church with a friend so he could learn about religion. He came home furious because the pastor's sermon was about how horrible Obama is.
Her son, who really likes Obama, now refuses to go to any churches. Good for him.

I'm sorry he had such an awful experience that he will remember forever.

5. It's very sad to have to admit that this country is corrupt
Edited on Wed Dec-01-10 05:45 PM by lunatica
We're not superior to any other country at all. We're as bad as the worst of them, now that we commit crimes against humanity on a daily basis.

Funny thing. Finally accepting the truth of the situation is the 5th and final stage of grief.

I always kept money in my wallet and then money in a belt. That way I could give my wallet money up for a bribe and not be broke.
