Miracle Dog Survives Storm, Home Destroyed
Miracle Dog Survives Storm, Home Destroyed

BUFORD, GA -- An American Eskimo dog named Kirin was discovered by her owners early Wednesday in the rubble of their home in the Kirkstone subdivision of northern Gwinnett County, which was hit hard by powerful winds Tuesday afternoon.

Matthew and Reacey Lee said they were thankful to find Kirin, despite the fact that their home is a complete loss. It suffered more damage than any other home in the neighborhood.

"We're excited," Reacey Lee said. "A house is a house, but Kirin could not be replaced."

The Lees feared the worst after firefighters failed to locate Kirin Tuesday night.

"So this morning we went to what was left of the bedroom and heard him whimpering," said Matthew Lee.

3. You can't eat a house when you get hungry. Dogs on the other hand...

5. The same thing happened to a coworker years ago who lost her house
in a tornado. The dog was thrown into the rubble of the house next door and was apparently unconscious for 24 hours, he wasn't found until late the next day. He was okay, but he had a horrible fear of storms after that (and who wouldn't?).

Good doggie, sometimes it's the little things that mean the most....
