Called Servers, so is Amazon. The difference is that Amazon owns the computers, and Assange rented space in their servers.
That's the easiest way, as if he was renting an apartment.

basically. Your information (web content) and the resources required to present that information to the public are made available on Amazon's systems. Resources are shared and you get a bill based on what you use.
