Why so serious?
- CNN, MSNBC and of course FOX are all running stories about how Palin actually has a shot now. They do this so we don't wake up surprised in 2012 when we say Madam President Sarah Palin.

- Obama's election was bought and paid for by the Banks. It was a message they were sending the GOP. It was loud and clear: give us tax cuts and no interest loans that we never have to pay back, or we'll support the other guy.

- There are no jobs coming back. There are no new jobs on the horizon. We stopped getting jobs when we stopped making stuff. Maybe if we start making stuff again, and competing against slave labor prices, we might have a chance. But no stuff, no jobs.

- America thought it could be Lord Jim over the other developing countries with globalization. Um, no - it doesn't work that way.

- Telling the truth will get you killed, put in jail or tortured. Possibly all three.

- Most economists predict hyperinflation.

- There are no people in Congress, The White House, or the courts, OR THE POLICE OR THE HOSPITALS - who care about us, the population. The people who live, work (sometimes) and sleep here. They don't give a rat's ass whether we live or die. Sure, there's those one or two guys and girls who fight for us. But its an uphill battle, and the enemy has an army of dimwitted hillbilly morons to sic on her or him.

- We have 3 wars going on. So much for Post-Cold War Pax Americana.

- There will be more war. With the current crop, any and all money will go to Defense and corporate subsidies. We will rack up more debt to please more companies and have more wars. They'll just fester in the background - killing a few soldiers every day, until there's a Wal-Mart in Kandahar.

- Religion has blinded this nation with a malignant fervor in reaction to not being a beautiful and unique snowflake. They believe in an code that was developed 2000 years ago, and yet they have control of the government. More war, more death, more religion.

2. That truth hurts
Sometimes it seems they know the aliens are going to land and take over so they are just getting all the shit done that they can, because it won't matter soon enough.

sit down, put your feet up, and just watch the country implode.
It will be fun, no worries..............

6. I don't see how we'll have hyperinflation while wages continue
to fall and unemployment remains high. I tend to think like Krugman.

7. It bears repeating. All empires consume the core in the final stage...
Look at the USSR in the last five years...Spain around 1890, the English Empire in between the wars...Rome for that matter...

American Exceptionalism is but a myth, and we're two seconds from the fall. The current constitutional crisis might even bring the end before 2012, and after that truly all bets are off...oh the howling for the tenth amendment is about to get much louder, like 1859...

No, these are not happy thoughts...

I gave up on the US a while ago, just waiting for what replaces it.

12. I don't think the Chinese will emerge unscathed either
Expect a mini-Dark Ages of sorts for about 50-100 years when economies stop growing, and start shrinking.

Harsh truths - we have serious problems one of which is that most people aren't ready or willing to accept the extreme seriousness of the trouble we are in.

If eventually the United States will end up like the USSR did, a bunch of broken states becoming their own countries.. Could it happen to us?

15. Yes, It Could.
Whether The Elite are capable of losing that much control for it to happen naturally, we will have to see.

Likely, knowing them, if such a fate happens, it will be by design, for their benefit, like everything else that happens in this world.
