Where are the Democrats in the news' sound bites and interviews?
Have they been stolen? Are they in hiding? Maybe they're boycotting the media? Maybe they're busy working in our best interests?

All I know is that anytime there's a political discussion or political news story on teevee, we get to hear from Jim Demint or Mitch McConnell or Mike Pence or any one of a host of other repubicans.

This causes their messages, their views, to become the common wisdom.

It must be good to own the message machine.

1. Selective Democrats...
Remember, the people who are put on are chosen by two people...the party and the network producers. Thus we get DLC and "moderates" on most shows who do a great Ralph Kramden act in feebly dealing with the day's rushpublican talking points.

Fortunately there are some places where some Progressive Democrats can be found...but most are lying underground while the corporate media makes sure their execs get their tax breaks and that those "socialist" Democrats don't give any more money to the riff raff.

4. it's that bad
on NPR. if they do put in a democrat sound bite (this morning on the way to work), it's a democrat explaining why it's okay to raise the retirement age (i can't remember the man's name to save my life). the story they did on obama was pretty much the story here on du lately: in short, he's a wimp. "if you give the donkey all the carrots at the beginning of the trip, he has no incentive to take you the rest of the way." etc.

there's a lot of bitching and crying about how the democrats are so bad at getting their message out, and i think it's largely unfair. it's the MEDIA that refuses to tell the whole story. they are so much of what's wrong with our country. you make a good point and thank you for it.
