Future house majority leader John Boehner meets with anti-abortion extremists
Edited on Thu Dec-02-10 08:38 AM by BlancheSplanchnik
I'm ANGRY!

Because Fux watching morons got out and voted for tea-bagging liars....

Because corporate monopoly media twists facts, plays false equivalence, and disinforms, so that too many people didn't know what to believe or who stood for what...

AND, I'm especially pissed because pissed-off democrats who want to teach President Obama a lesson stayed home or voted repuke....

we now have a repuke house majority and just ONE of the consequences of that is....

Boehner as House Majority Leader.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Digby has the scoop that future House Majority Leader Rep John Boehner (R-OH) recently made time to meet with Randall Terry. Randall Terry is the man behind the violently anti-choice Operation Rescue, known by many as a domestic terrorist, and has repeatedly and publicly called for violence against abortion providers and clinic staff.

Nancy Keenan sums it up:

“In the Boehner-led House, having a miles-long rap sheet calling for violence against abortion providers and their patients gets you an invitation to meet with the incoming speaker’s staff…The Randall Terry meeting signifies that, when it comes to listening to the most extreme elements of the anti-choice movement, Boehner is all ears.”

The Progressive "Dispatch from the Reddest State"
Walker is also a major opponent of abortion. That's too bad, since one really decent thing about the out-going, middle-of-the-road Democratic governor Jim Doyle, for all his faults, was that he stood in the way of some truly nutty Republican bills. Among them: a proposal to allow concealed carry in Planned Parenthood clinics, and a measure that would let pharmacists decide whether or not to fill women's prescriptions for birth control pills based on their own, personal beliefs--that one was sponsored in the state assembly by none other than Scott Walker.

No wonder Operation Rescue leader Troy Newman told The New York Times "I feel like a little boy on Christmas morning--which package do I open first?" after the elections.

Scott Walker also opposes abortion in cases of rape and incest, as do many of his former colleagues in the legislature, who are backed by Wisconsin Right to Life and other nationally affiliated pro-life groups.

But the extreme anti-abortion agenda is not just a women's issue. It's also a jobs issue.

they can justify anything if it`s wrapped up religion. i guess they did`t know abortion was acceptable during the time of the old testament.

4. Reminder: While the republican majority can stall any Obama legislation,

they also can't easily pass their choice of legislation due to the democratic majority in the Senate and a non-super majority in the House to override a veto.
