Democrats in Congress Should Revolt
It has been reported recently that the Obama White House has pretty much so agreed to extend the Bush tax cuts for high end earners for two years, but he now has to try to convince Democratic members of Congress to sign onto the plan. Democrats in Congress should revolt against President Obama if he actually tries to push to have the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy extended for two years.

The Democrats have facts on their side, so they do not have to accept this agreement. The Republicans claim that keeping the Bush tax cuts will create jobs. President Bush cut taxes for the wealthy and only created 1 million jobs. President Clinton raised taxes on the wealthy and created 20+ million jobs. Republicans also claim that if taxes on the wealthy remain low wealthy people will spend their money. The facts show that when President Bush cut taxes on the wealthy, the wealthy saved their money. However, when President Clinton raised taxes on the wealthy, the wealthy spent their money. I do not have a link about the spending, but one day on MSNBC Cenk Uygur put up a graphic that discussed spending during the Bush and Clinton years.

If President Obama pushes Democrats in Congress to vote for extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy the Democrats in Congress should just vote against the measure. I think the Democrats can win on this issue if they take this to the American people and inform the American people of the facts.

5. Yes, work hard to save the entitlement programs for the rich...
Working class families who dared to own homes, and keep a job before it flew accross the ocean.... Can pull themselves up by their own....

7. The biggest tax break for the rich is the Mortgage deduction.
Yet when the deficit commission dares to speak about limiting it people go all nuts.

6. Let them all lapse.
We are fooling ourselves if we think we can get rid of tax breaks for the rich now and then the rest of the tax breaks later. It's the middle income tax cuts that are the huge hole in the deficit, not the cuts for the rich.

10. Looks like the House is trying to.
It's a risk because I don't know if Nancy has the votes, but it's definitely worth a shot. It's clear to me from Pelosi's current rhetoric that the House is no longer marching in lock-step with the WH's agenda. The Senate on the other hand....
