What is your "Tax plus Health Care" rate |
|
I earn over $100K anually and my State and Fed combined tax rate after "Deductions" is 15%.
Additionally I pay Gas Taxes, on fuel to get to work, State sales tax on items I buy, goods and services such as Telecom. Basically every thing except food for an additional 5%
AND I pay $10,000.00 per year in Health Insurance cost
Bring the GRAND TOTAL to 27 -28% of my total income

50% state + federal + self-employment (SS, including Medicare tax)
plus property tax plus health insurance plus the taxes you mention
I would be much happier about this if my taxes would at least cover health care. Because a lot of my frantic work ethic is all about not being bankrupted by a medical catastrophe.

I make $34k a year, pay $6k+ in health premiums, about 17% in fed and state taxes and our local sales tax rates run between 8-10% depending on what town I happen to be spending money in.
I dropped health coverage for next year, I just can't afford it anymore. It's been eating us alive with the increases over the last 3 years.

Self-employment tax and health insurance extortion payment are killers. Oh, and did I mention that we have a $5,000 deductible on our health insurance?
But damn it all if the wealthiest don't get their tax breaks continued. The poor bastards are definitely over-taxed!

8. Are you adding SS & Medicare? |
|
If so, you must have a lot of deductions and your tax rate is comfortably low.

9. No I missed that - very good point - 35% Tax + Health Ins. |
|
That would put me up in the 35% Tax / Health Ins.

10. When you add it up, we're not as undertaxed as some think we are |
|
And under-65 people don't even get health care.
