The republicans are willing to put national security at risk for politics. Where is Obama?
The republicans are willing to throw out the START treaty so they can get tax cuts for the rich and are willing to cut funding for our troops in order not to repeal DADT. During the Bush administration when the democrats threatened to hold up funding for the military because the defense authorization bill was stuffed with things not closely related to defense the Bush administration would beat the democrats over the head with the anti-troop and weak on defense labels. Bush administration officials would be on every news network calling the democrats weak. All their pundits would fall in line. And the democrats would instantly cave.

Now Obama is in a position to do the same thing and he is choosing not to. He could have all his advisers, all the pundits, and members of congress in all the media outlets slamming the republicans for being weak on defense and for being anti-troop. The exact same thing they did to us. But instead Obama is still stuck on this lets all hold hands and be nice to eachother mentallity, even though every republican he deals with thinks he's a socialist that might have been born in Kenya. I don't think he can possibly be that naive at this point and I don't get it.

3. His public facade is for independent voters, who are "sick of gridlock" and "want the parties to
work together to solve problems." I don't think he is naive, but they need to have some sort of back-door strategy to kick some ass. Publically Pelosi and Reid are calling it like they see it - Republicans are being obstructionist, and want to RAISE the deficit. Other Dems are going to have to get on TV and start kicking ass too.

5. At pretty much every town hall lately he laid out their tactic of obstructionism,
Easy to miss that stuff, the media DOESN"T SHOW IT.

7. Did he mention any of them by name? Did he even utter the phrase "republicans"?
Because usually he won't even say the word republicans, he will use terms like "some in congress".

I do agree with you that the media sucks, but he is in the position to drive the message if he wanted to. He can schedule a prime time speech any time he wants if that's what it would take.

9. He's MIA as usual.
His MO is to turn everything over to Congress, then step away from the fray. Evidently he's unaware of the old adage: No decision IS a decision.

I've come to the sad conclusion that he's doing what he wants to do. He's certainly not stupid or naive, so the only thing that explains his behavior, at least to me, is that what he's doing is deliberate.

10. Google START or New START, & you'll find nothing in the media holding
the Republicans accountable. Nothing!

:grr:
