1. $100 for a peg
$1000 for a plank, $5000 for a beam. Sounds like military contractors are building it :silly:

8. The governor is touting the jobs angle
900 minimum wage jobs with no benefits. Yippee.

That might even hold some water, but Grant County (where the park will go) is in the middle of the pack for unemployment, as far as the state goes. It's 10.3% there (not good, slightly above average statewide). Nine of the top ten counties for unemployment in the state (all above 12.9%) are in eastern and southern Kentucky, primarily Appalachia. Magoffin County takes the cake at 18.7(!)%.

If you're going to cut tax deals to bring in low-paying jobs, at least bring them to the people that are even more desperate for them.

The anti-intellectualism of America disgusts me so much. Why isn't the Tea Party outraged over THIS? Oh wait...they don't care about science.

Once the Republicans kill Global warning legislation. The polar caps will melt and most of the current American coasts will be under water.

19. Where does it say they are getting $37 outright?
because from what I've read, they've only applied for "tax incentives," which means they get back the sales tax revenue they pay to the state until that reaches 25% of their building costs (with a 10 year time limit). If they don't generate any revenue, they don't get anything.

22. how does it violate that if any business can apply for & receive those incentives?
I see a lot of people having cows over this, but not one of them has come up with an alternative plan to pump $ into the state's economy & employ 900 people (not including those involved in the construction).
