2. I give to the local food bank.

They have to buy their food from Feeding America (even if at a drastically reduced rate)even though they are part of that food bank system and they can get much more if they get the cash directly. I have done this ever since I found out that they had to pay for the food, transport the food, house the food and distribute the food. If all you can find is Feeding America then yes give to them but if you can donate directly to those on the front line it will go a lot further.
