234-to-188 House Passes Middle-Class Tax Cut Extension (20 Dems Vote No)
4:10 PM ET, 12/ 2/2010

The bill passed by a 234-to-188 vote, with 20 Democrats bucking their party to oppose the measure and three Republicans voting in favor. The proposal would extend the Bush-era tax cuts only to individuals earning $200,000 or less per year and families earning $250,000 or less.

1. Glad to see it passed, but why would Dems vote against it?

7. Because the party honchos think they can only elect Blue Dogs in...
...what they have deemed to be "RW districts."

3. That's good! Too bad it cannot pass the senate! I'd like to have the name of those 20 dems who vot
voted no, though! I think they deserve at least a nasty phone call or e-mail. . .until 2012!

14. If it does. . .I'll kiss your shoes! I would be so happy! I tell you what, I would rather give up
MY 3% Bush tax cuts, than for the top 2% to see their Bush tax cuts continued!
And I'm not even close to $250,000 (at least, not since my husband and I have retired!)

5. No spines. This can't get through the Senate. They know it can't so it's strictly symbolic.

11. Glad my outgoing Congressman did the right thing
John Hall has always voted his conscience. I hope to see him back in office in 2012. It's a goal I will fervently work for.
