1. Agreed.
The worst part is, the 'pugs will probably do unto her with it as they did unto Pat Schroeder.

9. But the 'pugs would say "that's DIFFERENT!"

See, to people like that, it's OK when a grown man cries(although it's not ok when the kid of that grown man cries after he's beaten or taunted the kid) because grown man, especially conservative orange grown men who still use Brylcreem, can be trusted to cry at one point and still be mean enough to lead or vote to fund invasions later.

Remember the Checkers Speech? Remember how the GOP House all choked up when MacArthur gave the "Old Soldiers Never Die..." speech? Remember Ollie North choking up just because he was asked moderately non-softball questions by that committee?

Once a woman cries(especially a liberal woman), to these men, it means that that woman can NEVER again display any strength or resolve whatsoever.

If Bill Clinton had died of a heart attack while in office, they'd have said Hillary wasn't tough enough to be in government if she'd dared to cry at his funeral.

6. The 'pugs n ' Dogs clearly intended the wording and Pelosi's role in reading it
to be a ritual humiliation for the progressive majority of the Democratic caucus.

This is a logical consequence.

11. It is confusing but this is the deal.
There is a new "independent" office, The Office of Congressional Ethics. It is chaired by a Dem and a Pub. Nancy had to approve the nominations. She approved Goss, who is the Forrest Gump of every dirty BushCo trick since the Bay of Pigs, and even that is probably an understatement.

That office generates inquiries.

Here's my thread from 2008

drug smuggler Barry Seal (left) sitting at a table of his colleagues on a CIA hit team. You can't make this stuff up.

Barry Seal

Adler Berriman Seal (July 16, 1939–February 19, 1986), better known as Barry Seal, was an American aircraft pilot who flew flights for the Central Intelligence Agency and the Medellin Cartel, among others. Seal was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and began flying at the age of 15. In 1955, he received his pilot's license at the age of 16 and joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), whose members at the time also included Lee Harvey Oswald and David Ferrie.<2> He later was linked through a dated photograph to Operation 40, a covert CIA operation whose members included; Tosh Plumlee, Frank Sturgis, future CIA Director Porter Goss and anti-Castro operatives involved in the Bay of Pigs Invasion.

Next up in a HEO generated investigation are the charges against Maxine. Maxine Waters ran afoul of Goss when she tried to investigate the IranContra crack coming into her district and also when she denounced our destabilization of Haiti. Goss was up to his eyebrows in both.

10. Charlie Rangel was my hero, so it makes me sad, too
I gave him a peck on the cheek once, at a reception, to thank him for his work.

In the end, though, I don't think censure means that much. Except for the ignominy of having to stand in the well of the House (which is rough, granted), there are few consequences for Charlie. By tradition, he wouldn't serve as committee or subcomittee chair in the subsequent Congress, but he won't in the next Congress anyway. I doubt it will have any bearing whatsoever on any chances he has for re-election two years from now in his district. If he wants it, it's his. And by then he could serve in any capacity.

Sorry, Charlie.

16. This was about Speaker Pelosi
One of her last official acts as Speaker was to read some bullshit censure against one of her friends.

Stupid and pointless.
