"The House of Representatives voted today to raise taxes on American Families." |
|
Ten second sound bite, that's what Boehner said. That's what's going to stick in the minds of people. Pence added to it.
All they need is 10 seconds to get their lies embedded into the consciousness of Americans.
Where are the fucking Democratic sound bites?
We're screwn.

3. We need to polish up our soundbite prowess. They've got it down to an art form. Grayson |

had it when he held up his sign "Die Quickly"
Instead, we tend to explain. At length. :eyes:

6. It's tough being a democrat. |
|
Part of me doesn't want to play down to their level by insulting the intelligence of Americans.
But the other part of me sees how effective republicans are at getting their overly simplified message across.
I guess I'm just an overeducated liberal elitist.

8. How damned hard would it have been to have a soundbite prepared? Really? |
|
Okay, so you have two prepared -- one for each result. And you've already got a person or two or three ready to step up to the microphone and preempt what you KNOW Boner and Yurtle and their minions will say. HOW DAMNED HARD IS THAT???
If incompetence were a crime...

4. I don't understand it either. |
|
All it would take is a Democrat to then take the microphone right behind Beohner and say:
"Yes, today the House of Representatives did vote to raise taxes on American Families. Those making over two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year."

7. Strictly speaking the Repubs voted against middle class tax cuts. |
|
The other tax cuts for high earners weren't part of the bill so nobody voted for or against them.

10. That's not the way to phrase it at all. |
|
"Today the H of R voted to lower taxes for 99% of American Families." "Today the H of R began to repair the damage done by a decade of irresponsible actions by the Republican Party".
You don't mention the non-extension for the richest 1%. Because technically, they didn't raise anyone's taxes. The GOP did that in 2001 when they voted to have them sunset in 10 years.

11. You're absolutely right. Actually, it's 100% of American families since those |

making over $250 will pay the same 'reduced' rate as the rest of us up to that $250 mark.
We need you in Washington. I say out with Gibbs, make room for maxsolomon!

5. But that's what the Repubs did. They voted against the tax cuts for the middle class. |
|
This is why they can do anything they want - because they will always say the opposite.
The Dems need to get out in front and beat them to the sound bite.

That would stand there and hold a mike and let them spew such crap? They can do nothing without the help of their comrades in the media.
