So don't you think they should have put three wealthy people... |
|
ten middle class people and five people who live below the poverty line on this debt reduction committee.
Instead they have a panel of elites, all of them.
Hell, I would have served on the commission as a tax preparer for just the amount of money to cover my costs. I'm technically live under the poverty level as I do receive a whopping $620 per month in disability and gross only about $10k from a very small tax practice.
I'm sure they could have scoured the country to find 17 other normal people like me to serve on the cat food commission.
Perhaps we would have said something like cut out a whole lot of crap from the military budget, establish a re-import tariff for American Based corporations producing goods over seas and then imported, increase the investigation of off shore corporations and charge fees for the right to operate in our country.
Just a few ideas...

1. Wealthy people are such a teeny tiny weeny minority in the US |
|
giving them three seats on the commission would be overly generous
But yeah, it'd be nice if We the People could actually govern our own interests!

3. Ah, they couldn't have normal people on those panels! |
|
The results might actually make sense...
And you know those results wouldn't benefit our rich benefactors, now would they?
