WOW! Is Lawrence O'Donell tearing Steve King appart!

If you missed his show "The Last Word" try to catch it on the rerun or via MSNBC's web site tomorrow. Lawrence began asking King if this was the first time he's eve voted against a tax cut? King tried to weasel out of that and LO told he is that's what he thinks, he doesn't know the tax code! Then he asked King if there was any concession bill he would agree to, like raising the top limit to $1 milliom and simply eliminating cuts for any over that if there are even any of his constituents that make more than that? King said he wants ALL the cuts to continue. LO explained that by voting no on anything but exactly what he wants means that he would b raising taxes on the very lowest income earners, even those who now pay 10% which would increase to 15%.

I can't rememer the entire exchange beteen the two, but LO did a terrific job! Betcha King never comes back on HIS show again!

mouth! LO even called him on how he distorted he Dream Act. the show mademy day! I was so depressed byall the bad stuff I've been hearing all day and finally LO made me smile!

Gotta say, I honestly think King was utterly unfazed. The Republicans have their own media now. A vote against tax cuts like King made today might have been uncomfortable for right wingers once upon a time, but nowadays it seems they can't be shamed at all. He will trundle over to Fox and various right wing radio outlets and say this vote was just a game and everyone knows it wasn't the final vote. Unfortunately, because we are unwilling to draw a line in the sand on this, King is probably right that a more GOP favorable tax cut deal will come before the House.

My only complaint is that I can't stand to listen to some of these guys for more than a minute -- King included.

They voted to raise taxes. They voted to refuse a tax break to 97% of Americans. That is the bottom line. Don't let them spin it otherwise.
