So what does the United States really stand for now?
Wireless Taps?

Worship of the rich?

Military Adventure?

Was it always like this? Were we just fed propaganda like the Nazi's and the Russians and the Red Chinese?

Did we buy it because we still could have good toilet paper and buy things the commies couldn't?

Did we just let it happen because our personal greed and fealty to consumer babbles consume out dignity and ethics?

Or was it all a shame dressed up with hints of liberty and sprinkled with a bit of god dust to keep us all in line?

What does this country stand for anymore?

If the people keep pounding their chests and scream we are number one and that we are the best military and blah blah blah, don't we deserve what we are getting in return?

Contempt and utter scorn for the common folk, the supposed backbone of our society?

Yea, well, how do we break through the noise?

Are we all just modern day Cassandra's?

I think it's worse because when the shit hits the fan they will come after us first claiming we hate America...

3. The United States stands for abandoned principles
Hypocrisy.

Aggression.

Violence.

Corruption.

Secrecy.

Growing disparity between the Haves and the Have-Nots.

Willful ignorance.

Avarice and envy.

Consumption.

Docile, entertained and distracted citizens.

My support will go to anyone who promises to engage the status quo self-destruct mechanism--the person with the public ear willing to call for a general strike and boycott.

5. We stood for: high standard of living, property ownership, and economic opportunity.
That's why my great-grandparents crossed the ocean. Those things are now slipping out of reach for many.

6. Corporate greed, ignorance, and eye-for-eye mentality.
We bought into it because of a lack of awareness among American voters, brought on by our deteriorating educational system coupled with misinformation spewed by the media.

we as a nation believe that the rich have too little money and the poor have to much.

When Obama talked about change , apparently he was talking about handouts to the new homeless standing on our on the street corners.

13. We stand for militarism without justification, rule by the rich, subjugation and
exploitation of the workers, mystical beliefs over science and knowledge, and total lack of accountability by "our" government and leaders.
