Tea Party America: Lose Your Job. Lose Your House. Lose Your Right To Vote?
Many people have struggled to make sense of the GOP's mean-spirited campaign against unemployment benefits and poor Americans. I mean, really.... threatening to filibuster all bills (including school lunch funding) if millionaires don't get tax cuts?

If nothing else, the hypocrisy is breathtaking. Rep. Boehner (R-Big Orange) has been all over the news with his refusal to extend unemployment benefits without corresponding spending reductions. And in the next breath, he threatens to hold up all legislation unless millionaires keep their tax cuts - with no corresponding spending reductions required. Give him points for inconsistency, anyway.

But now we have this report from the Institute For Southern Studies that reads like a headline from The Onion: Denying Vote to Those Without Property "Makes Sense."

1. They Want To Return To The 50s...The 1850s...
Someone posted on this yesterday and made the very important point that most wingnuts ignored...if you have a mortgage, you don't own your home, the bank does. So who does that leave with the right to vote?

Of course there's the typical racist dogwhistles here...those inferior blacks and mexicans who vote Democratic gotta be neutralized.

2. Phillips is a piece of work. Take a gander at his FB:

Dear me... Poor Capt. Sully and Nikon.

Teehee: Also just found this:

Judson Phillips is the huckster who created a for-profit corporation called "Tea Party Nation." He tried to cash in on the Tea Party movement by hosting a "Tea Party Convention" last January that charged $549 admission. Despite his paying Sarah Palin a reported $100,000 to speak, attendance was poor and most real Tea Party groups didn't participate. More on that here. Phillips has since been sued by an investor who fronted the money for the flopped convention.
