I would guess much of the world is watching and expecting some action.
Do we just go after the leakers and pretend the information is still secret and thus off limits for investigation?
Or do we investigate, and prosecute if necessary, criminal actions that have been hidden behind the protection of secret classification? Who decides what is classified as secret, and when does the public ever get the information? Who is overseeing this secrets business for abuse?
Will some stronger open government laws be enacted to correct this secrets problem? Do we require something like California's constitutional statement fleshed-out with details and penalties to protect the integrity of our government? We seem to need a change in the openness of our government's dealings.
(b) (1) The people have the right of access to information
concerning the conduct of the people's business, and, therefore, the
meetings of public bodies and the writings of public officials and
agencies shall be open to public scrutiny.
Statement from California's constitution.
Let's not pretend criminal behavior is above the law, ever, and let us light a fire under the Justice Dept and congress to finally do something about it.
