Anyone else find it odd that some don't buy Global warming but won't STFU about Terrorism?

1. Well, both are real, but your are on the right track about which is more likely.

A good seat belt campaign would probably save more lives than most of our terrorism efforts.

Global warming requires them to open their minds to science and also to sacrifice.

Both are immediate.
Failing to deal with both in a responsible way will cause grave problems in the future.

Global warming is probably the more serious in its long term affects, because the massive refugee problem caused by global warming will exacerbate the political problems leading to terrorism, and certainly causes graver economic problems in the long term.

But you are asking people to think longer term than 2 years and have greater concern than just their own personal assets.

Follow the money, and watch who is playing politics with things that used to matter to everyone. Those things are now being treated as partisan "wish list" items.

The global warming thing is ridiculous. They point to massive snow storms as some bizarre evidence against global warming, even though the increased moisture in our atmosphere, which is what causes storms of all kinds, is a sign that the globe is indeed warming. What about the polar ice caps? Clear and obvious proof... but you won't get any buy-in from those who find it politically and financially inappropriate to acknowledge such things.

ever noticed those who won't STFU about terror aren't talking about mcveigh or cheney or the anthrax dude? in their booki, mcveigh was persecuted by clinton, cheney is a mad genius behind dumbya, and the anthrax dude has been conveniently forgotten

they rant abt terror because it's their way to whine about muslims, africans, immigrants, etc...they're just plain racist IMHO

global warming isn't something where you can easily point to a black guy or a muslim guy and say, "that dude did it," so why would they care?

9. They're both real and magnified by empire; but whereas the former threatens

the cash flow; of the dominant powers that be, the latter pads it.

The fossil fuel industry, military industrial complex and general police state apparatus directly benefit monetarily from terrorism, but if energy was cheap, sustainable, and virtually limitless, a major cause of empire would go way and if empire went away, so would the motivation for terrorism.
