WikiLeaks: Five more of the strangest stories to emerge
http://www.csmonitor.com/World/2010/1203/WikiLeaks-Five-more-of-the-strangest-stories-to-emerge/Holy-tired-metaphor

The WikiLeaks cable dump has uncovered a lot of downright serious allegations: that the State Department pressured Germany into not criminally investigating the CIA's kidnapping of one of its innocent citizens, that the British government secretly allowed the US to keep cluster bombs on its soil in defiance of a treaty, that the US manipulated the Spanish criminal justice system in its investigation of the CIA's torture of its citizens, and so on.

And it also uncovered some very weird stories. Earlier this week, we wrote about how Qaddadfi loves flamenco dancing, how King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia likes the idea of surgically implanting people with tracking chips, and how a 75-year-old US citizen fled Iran on horseback.

The leaks keep coming. Here are five more of the oddest stories to come out of the leaked State Department cables.

1. Is it any wonder why both the "free" and "unfree" world want Wikileaks stopped?
Perhaps it is because they are closer then they would like people to believe in philosophy?

2. I admittedly can't keep up with the stories and posts about Wikileaks...
but, is it my imagination, or does it seem that A LOT of pressure is coming from many directions to stop this?

I mean, more than anything we have ever been witness to thus far in this age of technology.

I see headlines about Amazon cutting off Wilileaks, same with PayPal, certainly all government-related sites (Library of Congress); colleges telling students not to post or there will be consequences.

:wow:

This is possibly the most explosive event of my lifetime, if the information can continue to come out into the open, that is.

3. It's not your imagination. Yesterday it blew up.
I'd love to see the leak on all these companies and why they suddenly after 4 years decided all this stuff was illegal and breaking their TOS.

6. Hmmm.....I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest
there was a knock on their corporate doors from government thugs.

Color me cynical.
