Ok this HAS to be what Obama and his staff are mulling over..

If we just let the tax cuts expire.. and the republicans decide .. ok if THATS the way you want to play it.. they whip up there full spin machine and pound Obama and the democrats as tax raisers.. How much will it it hurt in 2012?? Will it hurt more if the ecomony is flat between then and now?? If there is a modest recovery.. Say unemployment drops to near 8%. will that weaken the effects??

1. If they let them expire, then they've got the majority in January and who knows

what they'll come up with.

I'm thinking more short term - if we don't do something NOW, 2012 won't even be on the radar. :(

But on the other hand, we're DU and voraciously into this, the majority of Americans aren't.

2. What they'll do is

Quickly pass a tax cut for everyone in the House right after Jan 1.

Then it will be up to the Democratic Senate to decide if it gets to the President and up to the President to sign the bill into law or not.

Either way, they'll shrug and say we've done our part. Elect a new senate and president and you'll get tax cuts.

I think they'd be just as happy if the sentae stalls the bill forever. For one thing the country can't afford it, and the other thing, they can push the senate to act all the way until the next election.
