Pssssst! We are STILL being bled dry by two dishonorable, unjust wars. We need THAT money at home.

It's like having a cocaine habit and a heroin habit and telling the kids they're going to have to eat cereal without milk because we can't afford it.

Fuck that.

4. I dont think it's about oil anymore, I think it's about selling war and security toys
the military industrial BS is the only sector of the economy that is flourishing- not a reason to keep warring, but I believe it's why we are there

5. I agree- although the best way I can describe it is "frightening and weird" sort of existence.
When we're not pushing hard for war, we're pushing harder for continued occupation.

All while heavily borrowing the money to do it from slave states, like China.

It's uber-fucked.

9. K & R. BLED DRY is right. It can't be said loudly enough and nearly often enough

And I wish every town square in America had one of these counters on a billboard a mile high:

http://www.costofwar.com

My sig line since forever and for perpetuity.

To see what that money would do for the poor and (shrinking) middle class here at home instead of for killing men, women and children and destroying lands abroad is completely sick making.

11. Thanks to the people who helped destroy our industrial base these are the only jobs our kids have
Used to be factories coming into our high schools to recruit them for jobs(I was one of them), and now it is just the military doing that recruiting.

Military is the only jobs we have left for our kids now.

I think some people fucked up.

16. And Cut The Profits To The Corporates? How Dare You!!
:sarcasm:

These wars are making a nice living for the MIC...contractors and mercenaries. It's keeping millions in work in this country as well as "providing" opportunities for those who would be among the unemployed here. Add to that the millions they pour into the pockets of the politicians...all who love having something military in their district.

This country profits from war...either through using our own as chattle or exporting it to other countries. Yep, it's is a habit on the level of heroin and keeping the world armed and divided is "good businss". To hell with the rest of us...they feel by profiting they're "making us safe".

Fighting these wars may no longer be a luxuary we can afford but the last people to see that or care re those who profit the most.

Cheers...
