Assuming you're talking about the Senate, debate has to end before you can have an up or down vote on a motion, and it takes 60 votes in the Senate to end debate.

All the complaining and banging of heads against brick walls in the world will not change that fact.

4. Sure I did; and they accomplished as little as we have
People forget that the Republicans actually didn't get much accomplished legislatively from 2001-2007

5. That's only when Republicans want something
It wouldn't be right or fair to play politics like that with a political issue. We have to keep our powder dry. No sense squandering political capital on something that's going to hurt the fee-fees of some overrich people. Be sensible!
