in your post. Those Palin's...they are something else. I think they represent this time in our culture.
I see posts here blaming "Boomers" for selfish behavior and the "1960's" for all our woes, but I look at these PALIN GRIFTERS (love the DU'ers who called them out first with that) and I think that the TRUE SELFISH AGE began in late 90's! And the generations who appear on Reality TV and DANCING WITH THE STARS (BRISTOL and now TODD) and the other TRASH that BOOMERS WOULD NEVER have TOLERATED.
I don't believe in Generational BASHING... but those who come here and blame everyone who was around in the 60's who now are approaching another "joblessness/economic bust" after so many in their lifetimes since the 70's and then goading them that they shouldn't be "ENTITLED" to retire "FREE (lol's) on "THEIR Taxpayer Dollars" on SS and Medicare" (that they payed into their whole lives) seems to me to be drinking some KoolAid..that's a new one manufactured by someone other than Proctor and Gamble...(or whoever produced the original)
Anyway.....making your funny snark too serious. Sorry! Peace! :hi:
Edited: Typos and stuff..probably syntax errors, etc.

17. I'm not defending Sarah by any means, |
|
but you do have to either bash them in the head or shoot them if you want to kill and eat them. They're pretty big fish, and you don't want them just flopping around in your boat.
They probably could have done the show without a demonstration, however.

21. Yes, I've fished muskellunge down here-- |
|
they sort of look like an overgrown northern pike, with the same tooth pattern--i.e. sharp teeth everywhere in their mouths--and you can get a helluvan infection if they bite you. If you're planning to keep it, you gotta club it. People used to shoot them, but that was outlawed about 60 years ago for safety reasons. Easy to see why, if you think of a small boat containing an old, rusty pistol, an excited/scared fisherman and a very unhappy fresh-water barracuda.

Halibut aren't that ferocious, but they're still powerful. You have to make sure they're subdued once you get them on your boat or they can cause some havoc. The fishermen only use guns for the very large ones. Most of them you have to bash.
Still, this whole halibut-bashing thing is kind of reminiscent of Sarah and the turkey "pardon" (slaughter) which you probably remember from Thanksgiving 2008. Sarah glorifies killing animals, and I'm not sure why.

But of all the reasons one might not like Sarah Palin, the halibut-clubbing and the turkey-pardoning interview are of least concern, at least for people who eat meat.
I mean, meat comes from animals. Animals have to be killed (usually) before you eat them. If you're willing to eat meat, you shouldn't be shocked at the process by which it's produced.

22. I'm not. I hunt and fish, and have done so all my life. |
|
When people get on a high horse about my killing animals, I ask if they are vegetarians and if they say they are not, I point out that unlike me, they pay people to raise animals in brutal conditions and to do their killing for them.

31. Sure. I just wanted to make my position clear. |
|
I part with Sarah in that I don't glorify hunting. I have no animal or fish mounts on my walls. I come from a tradition of hunting for food. Interestingly, I have gotten into contact with a Canadian branch of my family, and find that we have exactly the same attitudes. The 2 branches of the family have been pretty much out of touch with each other since 1910.
