I'm moving in with my nearly 60 year old partner, so she keeps her house. What is happening here?

She has worked hard all her life. In executive positions, for 35 years, and now she will probably never get another job; been out of work since Jan. 1 (manipulated out of it). I only hope I can keep mine. If I do, we can retire in a few years on a modest living. I like my independence, in my incredible 1880s apartment, but in this era you DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.

There is no regret here. We're lucky; I have a job at this age. I will work hard to keep it.

P.S. My daughter has no job, and her fiance works temp jobs. They are Gen Xers, we are Boomers. Welcome to a nation that I am an unabashed patriot about.

Anyway, would love to hear from our Millenials. They are likely to save us, although you better get started.

2. It will, I hope. No kids here - just pets.
The doggies and kitties will retain their home.

Many have left us. Grindl is still demanding treats.

4. I just had to file for early retirement..
it's only about $300. less than if I could have waited - but I just cannot wait any longer...I'm down to 2 days of 7 hr. a week. That's with 2 degrees - but to tell the truth I wouldn't even know what kind of job I could even do full-time any longer - half of the descriptions of the jobs sound alien to me anymore...

6. GETTING a full time job is almost an art these days

Bosses would rather have 4 people working 20 hrs a week, than 2 people working 40..

The 20-hr people are always hungry for work & will come in early, stay late, work off the clock if necessary, don't get benefits and they are pretty much interchangeable:(

5. If you are counting on the Millenials to save us...
You'd better hope salvation comes about with the use of a joystick/controller.
