I've downloaded it to check it out and it is the real deal. You need http://www.7-zip.org/download.html">7-Zip to unpack it, though. It's actually 54MB when it's unpacked

if it were available for reading without installing a bunch of new software.

2. I think it's the standard gzip format for compression

which comes on all Linux systems, is the most common these days for any Unix system, I'd say, and is handled by many other utilities on other OSes - not just '7-zip'. It's as close to a universal compression format as you'll get.

3. It is easily opened and is formatted in simple html

Many other file compression programs can handle that format, and you probably already have one installed.

The main advantage I see in downloading this comes from the ease, speed, and portability of browsing or researching the current set of released cables. No reason not to.
