Would you consider voting for Bernie Sanders in 2012?
Edited on Sun Dec-05-10 12:22 PM by salinen
I'm not trying to start a war here. I haven't heard anything about him attempting a run and it would be out of character for him to do so. But he is an Independent, so not technically a Dem.

I'd be tempted to vote for him. He my kind of progressive.

edited for Sanders

Obviously you don't. They are not "anti-capitalist".

44. Actually, many of them are anti-capitalist.
"Democratic socialism is difficult to define, and groups of scholars have radically different definitions for the term."

"The term is sometimes used synonymously with 'social democracy', but social democrats need not accept this label, and many self-identified democratic socialists oppose contemporary social democracy because social democracy retains the capitalist mode of production.<1>"

The burning desire to be President means you are willing to make the compromises to get in the position.

7. Absolutely
a huge grass roots movement to put him on the primary ballot - when Progressives want to do something, they can.

Just imagine what it would be like to have a President Sanders? Unfortunately it will never happen because we just love our one party system.

8. funny that
. . . Sen. Sanders wouldn't touch that prospect with a ten-foot-pole.
It's an irrelevancy.

How about asking if he's be likely to get enough of a majority to do anything other than siphon off a few hundred thousand votes?

24. Would I vote for him for what?
If I lived in his state, I would certainly vote for him for his current office. I don't live there. If you're talking about the Presidency, I can't imagine a circumstance where he would be a viable candidate, and it would have to be for a third party. I don't vote for third party presidential candidates. That leads to Republicans in power.
