Ron Paul: ‘What we need is more WikiLeaks’
Popular Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul is no stranger to breaking with his party, but in a recent television appearance the libertarian-leaning Rep. went even further than any member of Congress in defending whistleblower website WikiLeaks.

Speaking to Fox Business host Judge Napolitano on Thursday about recent revelations at the Federal Reserve, Paul's typical candor showed through.

"What we need is more WikiLeaks about the Federal Reserve," he said. "Can you imagine what it'd be like if we had every conversation in the last 10 years with our Federal Reserve people, the Federal Reserve chairman, with all the central bankers of the world and every agreement or quid-pro-quo they have? It would be massive. People would be so outraged."

1. I hope this does not make him popular with liberals.
I completely agree with him on this, but he is so very wrong on most issues.

I'm a Liberal and I agree with what he gets right
Which usually has to do with personal freedoms and shutting down the massive MIC and other scams going on in our government.

We should never get in the habit of judging people by the R, D and L's after people's names. CONTENT.

12. Sure.
I disagree with his deregulation and Adam Smith BS. I'll happily fight him on that.

On the other hand, he's fighting to get the Fed Audited and supports dismantling our out of control colonialism. I'll certainly get onboard for that.

15. What do you call the people that have spent over a trillion dollars invading lands 8,000 miles away?
"leaders"?

22. Except that he's been loudly talking about the travesty of the "Patriot Act" since day One and
is still talking about it. Which makes him rare among elected officials.

19. Ron Paul's a LIbertarian
I like his anti war stance, which I find refreshing. He's a lot more anti-war than Hillary, Obama, or Biden, by far. And he's incredibly honest. It's really surprising to see those Republicans in Texas keep electing the guy. I sure wish more Democrats had the common sense to defend Wikileaks and speak against the wars the way this guy does.

5. Proof that this platitude is wearing thin.
When he's wrong, he's wrong.

When he's right, he's right. In this case, he's right. And he's right for the right reasons. So give him that much.

The Congress is ginning up into a mob to lynch Assange. What they will actually attempt to hang, however, is press freedom and the free Internet. If Paul's the only one in the chamber fighting that, we are seriously fucked.

9. Remember that Ron Paul told his supporters that if he weren't on their presidential ballot
they should throw their support to Kucinich!

16. Absolutely agree.
Ron paul is the only one in congress standing up for free speech. Where are the democrats? Where is kucinich even? WTF?

Looks like this "broken clock" is right about this, as well as

Ending the wars of imperialism
Ending the drug war
Legalizing hemp as well as medical marijuana
Voted against the patriot act, is against warrantless wiretaps and spying on us citizens
Is disgusted with the TSA and its use of invasive screening measures/body scanners

Where is our own president on these issues?!?!

24. He's been right twice a day since the TSA shitstorm. When is it the Dems turn to get anything right?
You can only keep the record stuck on "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day" "broken clock, twice a day"

etc

for so long until you have to realize that the Dems, and by that logic our "government" as it currently acts, have been so, so wrong lately.

6. So who in the Fed would leak that stuff?
Wikileaks does not send out Julilan to steal this stuff like a anarchist James Bond.

20. I couldn't get past the word "popular"
Paul is of course correct on this one issue, but woefully inconsistent as usual...He's been bleating 'audit the fed' for years, but clams up when it comes to auditing the pentagon...

And now that his support of Assange is public, I'm curious to see if he will actually back it up with some legislative action -- Since, you know, he's actually a congressman and whatnot...
