Kay Bailey Hutchison not rightwing enough for teaparty.

snip
once the most popular Republican in the state in terms of voter support -- has a target on her back if she does run, put there by the increasingly influential and conservative Tea Party grassroots movement.

"She personifies everything that the Tea Party is fighting," said Konni Burton, a member of the Northeast Tarrant Tea Party steering committee. "She is a Republican, but when you check her votes on many issues, they are not ones that conservatives are happy with."

Hutchison hasn't said whether she'll retire or seek re-election in 2012, but several prominent Texans -- including Republicans such as former Secretary of State Roger Williams and Railroad Commissioners Michael Williams and Elizabeth Ames Jones, along with Democratic former Comptroller John Sharp -- have long said they plan to run.

2. She's a corporatist - no big surprise there
The three-way GOP gubernatorial primary between Hutchison, Perry, and Debra Medina read like a bad joke: "A corporatist, a Palinista, and a teabagger walked into a bar..."

3. Kay was rational and not a raving lunatic so they don't like her .It's pretty sad.
I never agreed with her politically, but she's a hell of a lot better than idiot Perry (Tx Gov) and almost all the ne nutballs the RW elected this year.

4. Takes me back to 2008
I remember that Hutchison was frequently mentioned as McCain's running mate and the look on her face when a reporter was the first to get her reaction when Palin was selected.

6. What's the tea party?
Haven't heard much from them lately. Maybe because they don't serve much of a purpose anymore?

7. Talk about a chasm of difference . . . .
. . . . I never of her as anything but a box of rocks right wing tool Not an ideologue. A tool.

And a fool.

Her personal high water mark was 1962 at UT.

Gingrich or Romney.

They aren't going to pick Palin as VP no matter how well she does, so the next best thing, in their minds, is Hutchinson's version of a milder, wingnut female.
