We have a community college here that is celebrating an anniversary. They invited the President, and he is coming tomorrow. It's a small affair, there is practically no buzz at all. Though it's about a mile from my house, I can't go, not many can.
I sent this link to a friend of mine tonight about the ongoing disaster in the Gulf of Mexico:
http://www.opednews.com/articles/1/The-Gulf-of-Mexico-is-Dyin-by-Dr-Tom-Termotto-101204-696.htmlMy friend is a hard working Democrat, during the critical times of political upheaval or when it's time to vote he wears a yellow dog button, he has held office in the local chapter and has stature as such state wide, he disseminates Democratic information in newsletters and is always available when it concerns "the cause".
His answer to the link was one sentence:
"Turns out I ended up with a VIP ticket to tomorrow's Obama speech.
When I have my one-on-one discussion with the President, I will bring up the matter of environmental stewardship, just after I suggest that he kick the Republican leadership's balls up into their throats." --------
I am an immigrant, long time American Citizen. America is my beloved adopted home where I am loved back and where my children play.:)
As I was learning the finer points of the English language this man taught me what it means to "dance with the one that brung you".
I'm selfishly happy he gets to hear and see the President, because I'll get a first hand report.
I'm not so happy for him, who worked tirelessly to help turn NC blue for Obama's election, and in all probability his dance card will remain empty.
