Do you agree to let billionaires keep their tax cuts if they agree not to murder 5 million people? |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 06:13 AM by Hannah Bell
Without UE extensions, 5 million people are expected have no source of income by April.
Do the sick fucks in DC think they're all going to immediately rush out & get jobs?
No, they're going to move in with relatives or friends (impacting the financial situation of *those* people), they're going to lose their homes (more real estate spiral), they're going to go homeless, and some of them are going to die, and some of their kids are going to die.
That "bargain" demonstrates the utter crookedness, decadence, amorality & complete bankruptcy of the american ruling class.

I don't find it shocking that they (whether R or D) don't really give much of a shit about us.
Apparently, tax cuts for the wealthy can't be enacted/extended fast enough, adding hundreds of billions more of debt as the Rs and White House blather on about the debt and deficits. All the while, the middle/working classes have to sweat bullets for a relative pittance from those who facilitated the decimation of the manufacturing base in the first place.
Add to that the bullshit Debt/Deficit Commission's "recommendations" (a couple of, anyway): cutting the rich and corporate taxes even more while the rest of us will have to work for less until we're dead. These cancerous thoughts will probably find their way into the Beltway political bloodstream before too long.
The Republic is doomed.

Now they can work with impunity and out in the open to dismantle our lives and livelihoods. Our agreement isn't required anymore.

15. Seeing as I don't want those 5,000,000 Americans to suffer... |
|
...yeah. I'd have to make that deal.
We can rage all we like about the inherent injustice involved, but we ought to accept reality: utter crookedness, decadence, amorality and complete (ethical and moral) bankruptcy of the ruling class aside, there's a reason we're calling them the RULING class.
Remember who's really in charge in America. It isn't the government, and it isn't the people. So yes, rather than stand on principle and let those five million families go down the tubes, I'd make the deal. I'd bitch about it, nice and loud and over and over, but I would do it.
I don't see a choice. Does it suck? Oh, yes.

17. Better deal would be this: |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 09:05 AM by Bryn
70% cut in Military Industrial Complex (it's eating MOST of our money, sucking money from food/clothes/homes/education) Repeal Corporate Personhood Repeal NAFTA, bring jobs back to USA or those companies over there be taxed HIGH. Extend Unemployment benefits Repeal DADT Tax cuts for middle class and below
Then we let those billionaires/millionaires have their precious tax cuts!
otherwise.. NO DEAL as it will add to 700 billion dollars deficit. Who will pay for it? Us?

So if they don't get their tax cuts AND unemployment expires and the middle class gets no cuts?
Republicans believe their own rhetoric. They do not think they are "murdering" anyone. In fact, most people would find this characterization to be one of exaggerated hysteria. It hurts your credibility.
