So here we are. Where is "that" exactly?
Losing hope.
It appears as if everyone is now calling the president a "caver".
There are people who champion all the things that he has done.
There are people who champion all the things he hasn't done.
Who is right?
Both are.
But at the end of the day, when it comes down to we the people or they the corporations, whom does Obama seem to be siding with?
Obama said himself, "I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president".
After eight years of a moron*, I'll take mediocre any day then a corporate glad hander.
Honestly, if he's okay with being a one term president, then what has he got to lose by standing up to the republicans? Nothing. Nothing at all.
Obama had a dynamic first year, but then things started to slide.
And where are we now?
Still in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay still alive and kicking, no prosecution for any of the previous administrations war crimes (now it's found out that Obama leaned on Spain to cut off their investigation), the unemployment figures are still terrible, unemployment insurance has just been cut off and now we are looking at the middle class keeps their tax break a the expense of the rich keeping theirs, thus driving up the deficit that much more, or nothing. Nice choice, huh? Bend over and say ahh for the rich or bend over.
Now, many people will point out all his finer points. And he had quite a few, but if the country is still hemorrhaging jobs and casting people out with no unemployment, however, Obama could walk on water, but it still won't put food on the table or pay the bills.
It seems to me that he has gotten so caught up in the Washington D.C. game of charades, he has completely forgotten what the topic was.
Being president is a horribly tough job. The stresses of the job are monumental. But the one thing I have noticed though out my 47 years on this planet is this: the job only gets harder the less you listen tho the people.
There is an old saying: you can't shit the shitter. Meaning, when we see bullshit, we will call you on it.
Mr. President, I voted for you. I'm now calling you on your bullshit. If you don't, you won't be a good one term president, you will be a mediocre one term president.
